App Review: Incredibooth
I am obsessed.
I’ve collected photobooth strips since I was three years old — I have one of my dad and I from when I was really small, and it’s hilarious to look at his funky 80s mustache and my silly hair.

I’ve collected boxes full of photobooth pictures over the years, and they’ve become quite unpopular which sucks. They’ve replaced the old timey photobooths with new digital, screen printed photos which is fantastic, I guess, but I miss the beach pier-look of a lot of old photobooth pictures that you just can’t really get anymore.
Enter the iPhone. With a retardedly-high-for-a-phone megapixel camera that rivals tons of new point-and-shoots out today, my iPhone takes some FANTASTIC PHOTOGRAPHS. I use it constantly and am an Instagram fiend.
Recently, I stumbled upon a newish app by the makers of Hipstamatic that still blows my mind. I don’t really like Hipstamatic — I never use it and it’s really hard for me to figure out (I don’t care if that makes me dumb). Unlike its sibling, though, Incredibooth is very user-friendly and produces some of the most genuine looking digital photobooth strips that I’ve ever seen.
You start with about 4 filters and although it doesn’t show you on the screen when you’re taking photos, when you review them you’ll see exactly which filter goes with which photo and learn what you like and don’t like. I’m particularly fond of “Betsy X” and “BlacKeys SG”.
There’s also a store accessible through the app itself that you can buy additional filters and Incredibooth packs with. I haven’t looked into those yet, although I am almost positive I will later.
The app uses both your regular camera as well as your forward-facing camera, so you can see the photos you’re taking if you’re taking ones of yourself. It also tells you where to have your eyes around; I’m assuming that’s to help so that the special effects of the filters don’t interfere with the actual photo too much.
The only downside of the app is that there are (so far) no ways to print physical photobooth strips from your pictures. I think if that were possible, this would be one of the best apps in the photography market.
Incredibooth is $0.99 in the app store! Let me know if you get it, I’d love to see your pictures!

I have Incredibooth on my iPod touch and it was actually free.
I’d love more filters and stuff but I really love all of the filters but the green-looking one.
Rachele over at thenearsightedowl.com is doing a project where she takes a photobooth pic every day and I’m joining in with my iPod. It might be fun!
Good day!
Oh wow! Maybe it only costs the $.99 then in the app store for iPhones? Curious, I’ll have to look into that! The green one is my least favorite, too. I’m not a fan of the weird Hulk-effect.
And yes, I just saw her post about that! I think I might do it for November, or start a weekly photobooth strip sort of thing. So many possibilities, I love the photo strips!
