Happy 1 Year Anniversary to Us! :D
It has officially been a year since Nick and I went on our very first date together. I simultaneously feel like the time has gone by too quickly and too slowly; I feel as if so much has happened and that we’ve experience so many different things together that it’s crazy to think it’s only been a single year. On the other hand, it also seems like it was just yesterday that Nick messaged me on Facebook offering to take my best friend and I out for coffee at 1 AM.
I’m one of the most articulate people I know, and even I can’t find the words to describe how incredibly happy Nick makes me, or how absolutely beautiful I think he is. There isn’t a single person I can think of who could be more perfect for me. I’m lucky every single day that he’s in my life, and I can’t wait to celebrate every anniversary hereafter with my soul mate.
But enough of that sappy mess! Onto presents! 😀
Our anniversary started at midnight, as many gift-giving holidays for us do. I’m very impatient and I absolutely adore presents — This means that sometimes, like last year, I celebrate my entire Christmas morning two nights before, lol. Compatibility Example #1: Nick doesn’t mind letting me open things before it’s time. He likes seeing how happy opening them makes me. 🙂
We went to bed happy with all our gifts and excited for our date later that day!
We ended up sleeping in until 2 PM (we never do this on weekends, it was amaaaaazing!)
Our anniversary and my birthday are during the same month, which is cool because Nick’s birthday is in the same month as Valentine’s Day so it’s like we get double presents for being born AND for being in a couple.
We went to eat dinner at Kobe Japanese Steakhouse, since I got a $30 gift card for my birthday.
We actually almost missed them singing to me — We started to leave and the waiter told us he was getting them to come sing for my birthday so we went back to our table!
We ate a little bit before getting to the restaurant because we wanted to have some left over for later. It worked, and when I finish this post we’re going to cuddle up in bed and eat our leftover delicious food and watch How I Met Your Mother. 🙂
After dinner, we stopped at Ross and Nick bought me some more presents for the day!
Suffice it to say, this was the best anniversary I’ve ever had. We didn’t do much but what we did do was perfect and I am so grateful to have someone that I get along with so well and who knows me enough to know the types of things that I go crazy over. He’s the greatest boyfriend and I can’t wait to see where our next year together takes us. 🙂
