I have very exciting news!! My nephew was born this weekend! 😀

Please say hello to little Rayden!

Weighing in at 6 lbs 8 oz and a lanky length of 19.5 inches, he’s the most beautiful little baby ever! He was born with a full head of beautiful dark hair and a face just like his daddy’s at 6:54 AM on Sunday, October 13, 2013!

I got the call that my brother’s girlfriend had gone into labor late last night, and rushed over to the hospital as soon as I got off of work.

After a few scary hours of the hospital’s attempted inducing of Rayden not going as planned, the doctor ordered that a C-section should be done for the safety of both mommy & baby.

We were all very nervous, but Raynee was really great and I’m so proud of my little brother — he stayed in the operation room with her the entire time!

At around 6:30 AM they brought Raynee into the OR, and a few minutes after my brother followed her. Nick and I went to the small sofabed in the hospital room to rest, since the doctor said the surgery would take up to 45 minutes and then we wouldn’t be able to see them for another 2 hours still.

A few minutes before 7 AM, just as we were falling to sleep, we heard the sound over the hospital speakers of a twinkling baby chime and I told him that I thought Rayden had just been born! He didn’t believe me, but I ended up being right! 😀

Over three hours after Rayden was born, we were finally allowed into the third floor after birth suite that he and his mommy will be staying in for the next few days.

He is so small and perfect! I instantly fell in love with him, even his loud little baby crying! Even only a few hours old, he was lifting his head up by himself and grasping out for hands to suck on to let us know he was hungry!

He was born with a full head of soft, dark hair and all ten perfect fingers and ten tiny toes!

I can’t wait to spend more time with him and watch him grow up! Everyone says being an aunt is really fun, and I can’t wait to spoil my little nephew with love and toys and all kinds of things! 🙂
