Life Lately!

I take so many random daily pictures while doing regular things and I figure I’d start sharing some of my favorite ones here! The last couple of weeks have been a whirlwind as summer has started taking a routine that is a bit more relaxed than my school semesters have been. My days off are actual days off now, which is something I haven’t had in over a year! Normally I’d be spending all my free time studying or finishing homework, but so far this summer I’ve devoted Mondays to watching movies (hello Netflix, my old friend!) in bed, reading and playing video games!

I took my mom and one of my little brothers to the beach with Nick for Mother’s Day – an impromptu trip that ended up being a lot of fun! We got sandwiches and drinks and made ourselves a picnic in the sand, and we left just as the sun was setting so that we were able to see the pretty sky while driving away from the ocean! It was a great way to spend the day with my family! 🙂

My friend Karli was passing through my area of Florida on a trip recently and she was able to swing by my apartment, even with the limited time I had due to work that day! It was so great to finally meet her and confirm that she is as fun to be around as I’d imagined. 😀 Also — check out those insanely long bananas! Aren’t they B-A-N-A-N-A-S?! 😛

Having time off also allows me to make healthier food choices with fresh salads and whole foods on some days! On others… Nutella is sort of in the food pyramid somewhere, right?

Also! Betsey Johnson currently has a line of really neat stuff out at Michaels stores everywhere! If you have one nearby, I’d definitely suggest checking it out. Most things in the line fall within the $2 – $5 range, and the patterns are ADORABLE! Let me know if you find anything good – our local store was almost completely sold out but I managed to snag a few things! If you have one of those regularly sent out coupons in your email you can probably get a great deal! 🙂

Also, saw Avengers: Age of Ultron! Vision and Scarlet Witch are my favorite Avengers and I was so pleased with how they did them -although Wanda was a bit different than I’d imagined her, Vision was ON POINT. There were some things in the movie that I didn’t agree with (mostly having to do with the portrayal of Black Widow and a few other things that have already been touted about on the internet if you care to Google, so I’ll save the speech!) but overall I enjoyed the experience — I think though if not for Vision and Wanda, I’d definitely prefer the first movie to the second!

I’ve also spent a lot of time recently playing my Sims 4 game! My Sim’s house is a Lisa Frank explosion and I love it. She’s a saucy Scientist and will eventually travel to an alien world! I love the endless possibilities in the game – my in-game neighbors are exact Sim replicas of Taylor Swift, Angelina Jolie and Nicki Minaj (just to name a few!) – and with custom content and user created gallery items available to download for free, there are no limits to how creative you can be with your game and your Sim!

I should have a recipe up within the next few days for these AMAZING cheesecake squares I made a few days ago… I’m currently testing them for freshness and storage recommendations (and what delicious testing it is!), but stay tuned! 🙂
