TBR: What I’m Reading in June 2019

Another month, another TBR! I’m really excited for so many of these, as a majority of them are recommended by my friends whose opinions I value a lot in the bookish community. I’ve grabbed a bunch of books I’ve wanted to read for awhile, and have owned, but haven’t gotten to – and I’m super psyched for this month of reading!

DIFFERENT SEASONS by Stephen King

Page Count: 507

Notes:

A lady in one of the art classes I instructed a few days ago told me I needed to read this one by King if I hadn’t, and I haven’t, so let’s do this! I love the movies some of his books/stories are made into, so I always end up having a good time reading the book versions.

THE SHINING GIRLS by Lauren Beukes

Page Count: 368

Notes:

I picked this up randomly based on the cover of the edition I found in a used bookstore, and so many of my friends ended up recommending it when I shared it! I’m excited and am buddy reading it with one of my bookish friends, yay!

HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX by JK Rowling

Page Count: 870

Notes:

Okay, so I am 1 month behind on my own readalong… Don’t hate me!

HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE by JK Rowling

Page Count: 652

RITES OF EXTINCTION by Matt Serafini

Page Count: 150

Notes:

This one was sent over by the author, and I can’t wait to read it after hearing the rave reviews from some of the best book reviewers/bloggers I know!

THE FORGOTTEN ISLAND by David Sodergren

Page Count: 316

Notes:

I just picked up his next novel recently, so I’m happy to finally be reading this one!

KILL CREEK by Scott Thomas

Page Count: 416

Notes:

I’ve owned & wanted to read this one for ages, but I’ve been behind on review copies so a lot of my normal reading has been pushed back. I decided to focus on fun reading this summer (or review copies I’m super into), so this was naturally pushed to the top of my list.

SOMETHING IN THE WATER by Eddie Generous

Page Count: 240

Notes:

Thanks to Eddie for sending this one over, along with another that I’ll be sharing/reading in July!

WE LIVE INSIDE YOUR EYES by Kealan Patrick Burke

Page Count: 190

Notes:

I’m co-hosting a readalong of this one, and it technically started a week ago, but whatever. 😀

STALKING JACK THE RIPPER by Kerri Maniscalco

Page Count: 337

Notes:

Don’t miss Destiny’s #StalkAlong – a readalong leading up to Kerri Maniscalco’s newest book, coming out in a few months! This is my first time reading the series and I’m H-Y-P-E-D for the readalong.

Planned Page Count Total: 4,046

This may seem a bit ambitious… and it totally is, haha. I’ve actually considered making this a “Summer TBR”, but we’ll see how June goes, won’t we?

Fee free to share your TBR posts so I can check them out!!

  1. Oh I’m also participating in the stalking Jack the Ripper readalong! But for me it will be a reread 🙂 I hope you will love it!

    1. Oh, yay!! That’s awesome! I actually started it last year and LOVED it, but for ended up needing to return it to the library before I got very far due to someone having a hold. So I bought it but then never picked it back up – I’m super excited to now!!

Have something to say? Tell me!
