Another day, another tag / blogger award! I missed my own Tuesday Tag day, so I’m just posting this whenever ’cause fuck it, right? 🙂
Huge thank you to my love, Destiny @ Howling Libraries. She is an incredible human, a beautiful person, and an excellent blogger – check out her stuff, you won’t be disappointed! 😀
I’ll probably tag people who have already been tagged, so don’t feel obligated to participate. But if you do, I’d love to read your answers!
RULES:
- Thank the blogger who nominated them and link back to their blog.
- Answer the 11 questions asked by the blogger who nominated them.
- Nominate 11 other blogs and give them 11 new questions to answer.
- Notify your nominees and display the Sunshine Blogger Award in your post.
🌈 1) What was the last book you strongly disliked?
I really didn’t like ELEVATION by Stephen King. I know I’m not in the majority here, and I’m okay with that, no hard feelings! I get the “good intentions” behind it, but reading a story of a basic ass guy “saving” a pair of lesbians and ~revolutionizing~ his town’s old ass way of thinking just wasn’t on the mark for me. No offense at all intended, and I love King – but that specific knight in shining whatever wasn’t my favorite. 🤷 (Don’t hate me for my opinions!! lol)
🌈 2) How does your rating star system work for your reviews?
This is such a thoughtful question, and I love it!
My rating scale:
⭐ = Really disliked this, I couldn’t recommend it.
⭐⭐= Not the worst I’ve ever read, but I didn’t like it.
⭐⭐⭐ = It was okay, and I might recommend it with certain exceptions or notes about things I wasn’t into.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ = I had minor issues, but enjoyed this, and would recommend & read it again.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ = I LOVED THIS VERY MUCH! I’ll probably reread it, and if it was an ARC or a digital copy, I’ll probably purchase the physical one for myself.
🌈 3) What are your favorite pizza toppings?
I love pizza! Mostly, I’m down with basic af cheese pizza. But my favorite pizza is crumbled bacon, feta cheese, and banana peppers!
Also, pineapple does go on pizza, and I will fight you on this. It’s delicious. I’d eat pineapple on anything, and you can’t do a damn thing to stop me.
🌈 4) Would you rather read a great plot with mediocre characters, or a boring plot with amazing characters?
Probably the latter; I think great characters can really make or break a story, and it’s the characters that impact me the most when reading – not the plot, although a good one of those is awesome!
🌈 5) How many books are you currently reading, and which one is your favorite so far?
So, I’m reading 4 books at the moment, but 2 are rereads so I’ll only answer from the 2 that aren’t. Of those, my favorite is SOMETHING IN THE WATER by Eddie Generous! It’s a collection of short stories (he came out with 2 recently, this is the first I’m reading but I’ll read the other soon, too!), and I’m only about halfway in but very impressed.
🌈 6) What was the last book review you posted?
My review of LOVE FOR SLAUGHTER by Sara Tantlinger, cross-posted over from my post on the Night Worms blog! I’d highly recommend her collection of horror poetry – it’s incredible, and she’s awesome!
🌈 7) Do you prefer MG, YA, NA, or adult books?
I’ll read anything, really. I think I read adult or YA the most, just judging from the books in my personal collection. That said, I also like books in the other two categories, so it’s whatever!
🌈 8) Is there a popular author you’re NOT interested in reading anything by? (Elaborate if you’re comfortable doing so!)
I’ve never read anything by Orson Scott Card, and don’t plan to. I know a lot of people praise Ender’s Game as one of the ~best sci-fi books ever~, but I never read it as a kid/teen. I can’t knowingly support an author who believes that actively worked against the legalization of gay marriage, or who believes that gay people “cannot be permitted to remain as acceptable, equal citizens within that society.” 🤷 There’s plenty of other sci-fi to read by more tolerant people!
🌈 9) What marginalized rep would you most strongly like to see more of in books?
Bisexuality beyond fetishization. And more people on the spectrum – particularly, Asperger’s!
🌈 10) Do you listen to music while reading?
Not usually, but I can. If it’s music I’ve heard before (I tend to listen to the same things over and over and over again for ages, lol), I can tune it out really easily.
🌈 11) Do you prefer book twitter or bookstagram?
This is tough! For my own stuff, I love and put more professional effort into bookstagram ’cause I aim for a certain aesthetic. I think Twitter is a bit more instant/chaotic, and a lot more how I am in real life, haha. I’m definitely not as put together as my instagram looks, lol. For interaction, I love both – but I think I learn more about people from Twitter, and there are some authors/fellow readers/bloggers I’ve met through twitter that barely use IG, so I’m very grateful!
My Questions:
1) What are your personal favorite type of posts to write (regardless of how much interaction they get)?
2) If you hate a book, do you write a blog review for it?
3) Do you have any food allergies?
4) What’s your favorite thing about yourself? And your favorite thing about your blog?
5) What song can you not stop listening to right now?
6) If you were a toy that came with 5 accessories, what would yours be?
7) What’s your favorite Disney movie?
8) What’s the last book you read that you didn’t want to end?
9) How many books have you read for the year, and where are you at in your reading goal (if you made one) for 2019?
10) How far in advance do you write up your blog posts?
11) What’s your favorite item of clothing? Describe it & tell me why it’s your favorite!
Congratulations on the nomination! 🙂
Thanks, Dalen!! 😀
My pleasure! Fully deserved 😁
Loved reading your answers! Thanks for the tag!

Yay! Absolutely, Evelyn!
Thank you so much for tagging me!!🥰🥳 I completely agree that pineapple has a right to be on pizza! (it’s too delicious to deny it?!?) and more bisexual rep, yes PLS! I want bisexual rep where it isn’t just used as a trope to make the character more ‘edgy’ and it’s actually used to boost the story!
You’re so welcome, definitely deserved!
I completely agree!! I hate when it’s just used to make the character seem “cooler” or “sexier” – sexuality as a plot device is so lame, I just want to read about REAL PEOPLE, haha. And yesss forever to pineapple love!!
Ahhh thank u🥰 and yes agreed!!! One day our prayers will be answered!😂
Thank you so much for the tag sweet! I have seen lots of mixed reviews for Elevation and still have it to read myself – shame you didn’t like it!
Thank you so much for the tag, I can’t wait to answer your questions!!!
MY QUEEN. Reason #87548597 why I love you so much haha!
