This was my first book by Tim Meyer, and I’d been seeing it around on bookstagram almost as long as I’d been a part of the community. The cover and premise were both intriguing to me, so when I finally got my hands on a copy, I pushed it way up on my TBR list! I love a good creepy house-related story, and the concept of “house switching” with another family is something I’ve always been so curious about when seeing it on TV. What if the people you switched with were into some really weird things? What if you encountered something weird in their house – or worse, what if they left something behind in yours? Ahh!

I was drawn into the story immediately. Meyer’s writing is engaging and it’s really easy to be swept away by it, and with the story itself. I actually read the first chapter of this during a “Try A Chapter” challenge for my personal blog, and this was the book that won the challenge because of how absorbed I was right away! I read the rest of it in a single sitting, and couldn’t put it down.

Angela and Terry were great characters to read about, in that I didn’t always agree with the choices or decisions they made – but still found them relatable. These are great qualities to have, since having characters you mesh with too well can be a bit boring. I also liked that I spent part of the time wondering what exactly was going on, and what had happened prior to the story. By the time the revelations came around, I was totally expecting the story to go somewhere else, so this almost unreliable narrator-esque quality left me reeling!

I don’t want to say too much about the synopsis itself, as it’d be easy to spoil something accidentally. I will say this was a great, quick read – one I’d highly recommend!
